As a photographer and now also a video creator, it’s ALL about the quality of work. To create something visually dramatic, perhaps emotive alongside those key essentials to make sure the photograph or video is doing and saying the right thing for the brief. Whether it’s a corporate headshot, brand photoshoot, sports kit needing to be photographed, my attention to the important details never wavers. My standards for quality production are as high as can be and you will only ever get photography or video content that I am proud of to give to you.

Cross country running photography
First running event of the year begins with the Yorkshire Cross Country Championships at Lightwater valley park where the roller coaster overlooks most of the course. Great event to shoot some very good county runners, we even had a sight of a Brownee on the course.
Fitness lifestyle photography
A beautiful summers day on the track with Ruby. Simple concept - to shoot sports lifestyle type photography as a practice run for upcoming sports brand shoots.

Cycling team training camp photography
Always great to be involved in the cycling world as a photographer. This time I was flown to Barcelona to document the training week from this ladies team as they began preparation for the season ahead. I tried to tell the story of those few days, show insights into the routine and hard work that is needed to compete as pro riders.
Barcelona Ironman triathlon photography
Such a pleasure to be invited to shoot the Barcelona Ironman by a friend who’s mad enough to enter these enormous events. I also took shots for 220 triathlon magazine while on site. I photographed him on the run up to the event a few days beforehand - riding, running and swimming in beautiful weather conditions as you’d expect. However when the day arrived a storm changed conditions dramatically and made the event from kick off with the swimming incredibly difficult. These super human achievements cannot be admired enough. I salute him and all the other athletes who took part.
Ultra runner photography
It’s great to spend time with athletes, to find out a little about who they are and what drives them etc. All the better when photographing them in a great location and the weather is with you. Heres just a few photographs of Anna an ultra runner after a few hours we spent together. Thank you Anna!
Sailing photography
It’s always a pleasure to work with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). This time capturing imagery for the following years 2020 RYA Dinghy Show. The two subjects who will be comparing the show were Sarah Ayton, her two boys and British Sailing Team member Sam Whaley. Sarah – an olympic gold medal winner and OBE and Sam – a British Sailing Team member. Both absolutely lovely people to work with and easy to see why they both have attained such heights in their careers. Happy sailing indeed and a pleasure to be there to capture.

What a nice session to photograph for Sweaty Betty, a free yoga session at the very grand Victoria Gate shopping centre Leeds as passers by looked on. Expert coaching on the day by Eleanor Coales.

Blake Street hill climb cycling photography
Wet mornings in Autumn are no big surprise in the north. What better way to make the most of sitting on ya bum, photographing mad people cycling as hard as they can up a very steep hill. Oh yeah, forgot to mention… as fast as they can. That’s what I do, I guess for the love of capturing those faces of intrepidation followed by absolute pure agony. Velodrome photography
It was nice to be invited along to the event at the Manchester velodrome by British Universities & Colleges Sport (bucs), to capture the days events. With low light, worse in parts of the arena only one thing to do. Lots of long exposures! Some of the photographs have a real painted feel to them with the blur from the arena as the riders whizzed by. Nice also to be inside, dry and warm for a change 🙂
Sports fitness photography
I’ve worked with Ruby on a number of occasions mainly photographing her as she runs competitively but more recently with the lights in the studio environment, creating some fitness lifestyle photography. Again like most of the subjects i choose to work with she has had no experience behind the camera and in front of the lights so great for me to shape the shoot and direct her to create the look and feel from my ideas mood board.

British Cycling - Let's ride, Manchester. Closed circuit cycling event in Manchester for hundreds of budding cyclists to get on a bike and enjoy the days ride.

Cycling photography - National Cross Country Mountain Bike Series
Fantastic location for the National Cross Country Mountain Bike round 2 race, we even had some sun. Huge array of talent across the board, great to see up close the action as always.
Sheffield Grand Prix photography
Another session in the HSBC UK National Circuit Series, this time in Sheffield. Such exciting events to cover as a photographer on very small circuits with good viewing for audiences creating great atmosphere. Also lots of nice action shots available of elites battling head to head for us photographers.
Run for all - Nottingham 10k
Wet weather is standard at UK sporting events. The Nottingham Run for all 10k event didn’t let down in that area but whatever the weather the emotions I photographed as people crossed the line were hard to beat anywhere else I’ve worked before. Inspiring stuff from elite athletes to first timers.
Cambridge Half Marathon photography
Always great to shoot in places you’ve never been before. The short time I spent in Cambridge looked a lovely place to visit. The weather let the occasion down sadly but fighting off manflu I didn’t really notice that much.
Tom Bishop triathlon photography
It goes without saying, always great to work with the best athletes in the world. Tom Bishop let me join him (and his training partners) as they spent the winter working hard in good ol Yorkshire conditions. For me telling this story is perhaps more important than photographing the winners of the race. This photography tells the story of whats needed to get to the elite events, the hard work and determination against the harshest conditions. Hour upon hour, week after week with one constant goal.
Cross country running photographer
Part of the Peco running series, 5 cross country races in Leeds around 4 to 5 miles long. These are such great events to photograph, filled with people trying their hardest to achieve their own personal goals on the day.
